Anisha Babbar is a Bollywood Fusion dancer, choreographer, and content creator from the San Francisco Bay Area. Being born and bred in a Bollywood fusion dance environment, Anisha’s training is eclectic in nature. She has a background in jazz, hip hop, modern Bollywood, contemporary, Bharatanatyam (Indian classical art form), and Indian folk dance. At the age of 12, she became the youngest company dancer for the Mona Khan Company, North America’s largest Bollywood dance company, where she worked for 10 years. At the age of 15, she became the company’s youngest senior instructor working with over 100 students in the Bay Area. Her performance repertoire includes events like the Super Bowl 50 halftime show, NBC’s America’s Got Talent, NBA halftime shows, the 2012 Inaugural Ball, and performing with Bollywood celebrities such as Shahrukh Khan and Shaan.

Her journey as a choreographer took off with her tenure as the lead dancer and head choreographer of UC Berkeley’s premier competitive Bollywood Dance team, Azaad. She gained notoriety by leading the team to 5 national championships within two years while also winning multiple awards for Best Choreography and Best Female Dancer.

Despite a long career in dance and choreography, Anisha has also pursued passions outside that arena. In 2015, Anisha graduated from UC Berkeley with a double major in Public Health and Economics, with an emphasis on women’s health and public policy. She is passionate about social change and channels that passion by volunteering in political campaigns and organizations such as Planned Parenthood. While working as a corporate healthcare consultant from 2016-2018, she earned a Masters’ degree from UCSF in Health Policy and Law where she wrote her thesis on improving access to reproductive health services. In addition to being an artist and a creator, Anisha hopes to be a champion for feminism, healthcare, and social justice.

Anisha began her YouTube career in 2016 by creating a channel for her high production dance videos. Since then, her channel has accumulated roughly 30 million views and nearly 300,000 subscribers. In late 2018, Anisha made the bold decision to leave her corporate day job, move to LA, and pursue her ambitions as a content creator. She continues to work as a professional dancer and choreographer while she works to create innovating and meaningful content for her channel that work to promote South Asian cultural and artistic influences to a mainstream audience.
